I hope you found the perfect cover for your Genesis.  These are really incredible grills and will easily last 20 years with just a little basic maintenance and preventative care.

I spent some time reading the reviews of these grill covers on Amazon and there are two general themes.  The first is that the covers fit great and the second is that they are not as high quality as the were 10 years ago.  It’s a bummer that “they don’t make them like they used to” but a three year warranty on an affordable product isn’t too bad of a deal.

Weber Smokey Mountain Maintenance Tips

Buying a cover for your WSM is a great start to helping your smoker last longer.  Keeping water out of the smoker will really help all of your grates last longer but will REALLY help the charcoal grate the most.

I also recommend that you remove spent ashes as soon as possible.  The combination of charcoal ash and water can create a very corrosive environment.  Cleaning out the ashes will help your components last longer and will have you ready to fire up your pit the next time you want to smoke a brisket.

Last, always try to clean your grates at the end of the cook while they are still warm and the grease is easily removable.  The salt in the bbq rubs as well as the vinegar used in sauces and mops are corrosive and will eat away at your cooking grates.

By the way, Weber changes the names of their grills on a regular basis.  The “Gold” series is now “Premium”.  The “Silver” series is now “Original”.  Don’t worry if you don’t see the exact name of your kettle below as I am not going to update this page every time Weber’s marketing group has a new clever name.  Use the diameter of your kettle along with the pictures below and you will get the right product.

Covers for 14.5 inch Kettle Grills: Weber Smokey Joe Silver and Gold

There is a nice carrying bag available for the Smokey Joe grills. The carrying bag fits the Smokey Joe Silver GREAT.  It also fits the Weber Smokey Joe Gold but is a little snug because of the locking lid latch.

The waterproof carrying bag comes with a padded shoulder strap and has a three year warranty.

Covers for 18.5 inch Kettle Grills: Weber Jumbo Joe and One Touch Silver

The Weber Jumbo Joe looks very similar to the Weber Smokey Joe Gold but has an 18.5 inch diameter instead of the 14.5 inches of the Smokey Joes.  The Jumbo Joe is an AMAZING grill but unfortunately Weber does not offer a cover or carrier for this grill.  There are several other companies that sell a drawstring type cover for the Jumbo Joe that works just fine.

Weber offers two covers for their 18.5 inch One Touch kettles, Standard and Premium.  The Standard cover is an absolute piece of crap that will not last a year.  Do NOT buy the cheap “Standard” cover.  If you buy the Standard cover dogs will bite you and women will laugh.

For what it is worth, I think that the official Weber cover is over priced.  The other brands shown below are just as good and a whole lot cheaper.

Covers for 22.5 inch Kettle Grills: One Touch, Master Touch, Performers

There are a lot of cover options when it comes to the 22.5 inch kettles.  Let’s start with the 22.5 inch kettles that do not have any built in tables.

The grill on the right in the above picture is the Weber Master Touch.  The Master Touch is wider than the standard 22.5 inch kettles because of the lid holder that is on the outside of the grill.  Weber has made a special cover for the Master Touch that will work great for the other 22.5 inch kettles that don’t have side tables.

The Master Touch cover is part number Weber 7150.

If you do not have a Master Touch and want to get a nice deal then take a look at the cover offered by KingKong.  The part number for a standard Weber kettle is Weber 7149.  Weber’s version is a bit expensive but KingKong offers a cheaper version that comes with some nice grill tools as a bonus.  The KingKong cover does NOT fit the Master Touch grill.

There are a few other manufactures of covers for 22.5 inch kettles given below.  If you have a Master Touch stick with Weber and get the 7150 model.

Covers for 22.5 inch Kettle Grills with Built in Tables: Performer and Platinum

There are a few versions of 22.5 inch kettles with built in tables.

The Weber Platinum One Touch is the grill on the right side of the picture above and has a side table on two sides of the grill.  You don’t have many choices when it comes to covers for the Platinum.  The part number for this cover is Weber 7457.

Next up are the Performer kettles, some of which have a long table and others have a short table.

For the Performers with a SHORT table there is only one cover available, part number Weber 7151.

For the Performers with LONG tables (currently being called the Premium and Deluxe models) there are many more choices.  The official Weber product is part number Weber 7152.  The Weber product doesn’t get stellar reviews and is over priced for what you get.  Here are some nice alternatives.

Covers for 26.75 inch Kettles

I love the Weber 26.75 inch kettle and think it might be the best kettle that Weber produces.  If you are fortunate enough to own this beautiful kettle then please keep it covered!

This is crazy but Weber sells a monster 37 inch grill for $1100 but does not sell a cover for it!!  If you need a cover for your Weber Ranch kettle you will need to get a custom grill cover made at a local upholstery shop.
