I spent the last week breaking in a new cast iron griddle on my Weber Genesis Silver. The project was a blast and I am so glad I bought the griddle. I have five cooks under my belt with the griddle and will break them up into different posts. At the end of the last post (Blackened Catfish) I am doing a give away of the exact same Lodge cast iron griddle I am using.
The first post on using a griddle has to be all about breakfast!
I started by preheating the griddle for about 15 minutes with both burners on the Genesis Silver A set to Medium/High. This dials in the grill to about 400F.
I started by throwing down a pile of sausage patties and let them sizzle away while I got the hash browns seasoned.
After I flipped the sausage patties I made sure the top section of the griddle was coated in a little sausage grease and put down a big pile of hash browns.
Took off the sausage, flipped the hash browns and poured some scrambled eggs onto the griddle.
Let things cook through then plated everything up for a great griddle cooked breakfast!
There might be a better way to start your day than firing up a Weber grill to make breakfast but I am not going to write about something like that on a family friendly site 🙂

- Griddle Cooked Potato Pancakes

Yeah..this griddle thing is fun. I think I have a new hobby 🙂
