Post #2 from my week of griddle cooking fun…Surf and Turf! I started by preheating the cast iron griddle on the Weber Genesis Silver for 15 minutes over Medium/High heat. I am nuts about griddle cooked mushrooms so I started off by throwing a bunch of sliced shrooms on the griddle. I seasoned them with a little salt and pepper and tossed them with a little peanut oil for lubrication.
Once they were a beautiful golden color on one side I flipped them over and made room on the griddle for a ribeye steak.
The steak gave a nice sizzle when it hit the griddle and got cooked for four minutes then flipped.
I know this steak doesn’t have the perfect seared crust that a lot of folks go for. I didn’t care..I was having too much fun. I put a tablespoon of butter on the steak and added a pound of seasoned shrimp to the griddle.
The aroma was amazing! Here are the shrimp after about four minutes.
I grabbed a big plate and heaped this griddled feast into a pile of grilling happiness.
I was one happy man when I tore into this for lunch.
